After earning a screenwriting diploma from Vancouver Film School, I worked in development with a number of production companies and independent producers and also wrote for episodic television. My screenplays have won acclaim in international competitions, such as Austin Film Festival (AFF) where I was a top-five finalist. I was one of three invited participants for the AFF’s mentorship program in Austin and Los Angeles.
After two successful runs on stage, I adapted my play Prodigals into a feature screenplay and sold it to Whiskaye Films, who partnered with Sociable Films for a 2016 production shot in Vancouver and my hometown of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. The world premiere took place at the 2017 Whistler Film Festival and was directed by Michelle Ouellet. The film stars David Alpay (Ararat) and my fellow VFS grad Sara Canning (The Vampire Diaries).
