Prodigals is my first play. I developed it with Twenty-Something Theatre for a workshop production in 2010 and an official premiere in 2011. It’s about a big-city dreamer who returns to his hometown of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario to testify in a murder trial. But coming home just opens old wounds in his circle of friends and he discovers that his missed opportunities are more than just regrets.

Movie adaptation: After two successful runs on stage, I adapted this story into a feature screenplay and sold it to Vancouver’s Whiskaye Films, who partnered with Sociable Films for a 2016 production shot in my hometown of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario and Vancouver, BC.

Prodigals the movie premiered at the 2017 Whistler Film Festival. It stars David Alpay and my fellow Vancouver Film School grad Sara Canning, both of whom are known for their roles in the CW series, The Vampire Diaries.

In the spring of 2018, LevelFILM will bring the film to a series of theatres followed by a digital/video-on-demand release. Stay tuned!

2011 Official Premiere Reviews
